Creating a Space of Peace, Joy, and Community at the Church of the Western Reserve

On September 8, the Church of the Western Reserve in Pepper Pike, OH, celebrated its Rally Day with enthusiasm as it unveiled a variety of newly renovated and expanded spaces. The congregation was overjoyed to explore these improved areas, which include an enhanced Christian education wing and new fellowship spaces designed to foster connection and spiritual growth.

“We wanted the beautify of the space to match the beauty of Christ’s spirit,” explains Rev. Dr. Sandy Seaton-Todd. “Our mission is to further the joy, peace, and community of Christ, and this joy and peace are evident as we join together in these new spaces. The bottom line is we wanted the beauty of the building to match the beauty of the spirit, and it does, thanks to PILP!”

The newly designed areas exude beauty and enhance functionality. A second kitchen, added next to the fellowship hall, supports the church’s growing need for community gatherings. All restrooms have been updated to be fully ADA-compliant, ensuring accessibility for all members. Outdoor spaces have been thoughtfully created, providing peaceful spots for congregants to sit and reflect on the beauty of Christ in nature. “We have made the fellowship spaces more open and safe for our seniors with mobility issues. Our children can revel in the colors and fun of a mist fireplace,” says Rev. Sandy; “our fellowship spaces are now welcoming to all our congregation.”

PILP is proud to have played a part in the realization of these transformative spaces, which now stand as a testament to the church’s commitment to fostering connection, joy, and peace.

“We are deeply grateful for PILP,” says Rev. Sandy. “Thanks to their support, we’ve been able to create a space where our community can thrive spiritually and together.”
